Pet owners can find a wealth of benefits for their pets in the ever-expanding CBD product industry. Healthy Roots is a female-owned CBD manufacturer based in Portland, Oregon. They grow, manufacture, and market all of their own products. Healthy Roots stands out from the rest because of its dedication to thorough testing, formula transparency, and high quality products made from locally sourced raw materials.
Made in the USA
Healthy Roots Hemp is grown, tested, and packaged in Portland, OR.
Local batch testing at Columbia Food Labs ensures you are buying products that are safe and effective. Tested at three levels: whole-plant hemp, the extracted material, and the final product.
USDA Certified Organic
Healthy Roots’ supply chain is monitored at every level to ensure their products are free of all chemicals, pesticides and GMOs.
Above all else, Good Manufacturing Practices are key. Healthy Roots is certified with the Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA); they are Farm Bill compliant, employ qualified food handlers, and have food processing permits.

How long does it take for the product to become effective?
This can vary depending on many factors such as your pet's size and metabolism, as well as the dosage given. Typically your pet will start feeling the effects anywhere from 30 minutes up to 2 hours. Monitor your pet closely during this time and adjust any future doses as necessary.
If you are wanting to relax your pet before an event (such as going to the vet) we recommend dosing the product 2-3 hours ahead of time.
What is CBD?
CBD is short for Cannabidiol. It is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids produced by industrial hemp and cannabis plants. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive meaning it doesn’t give you the intoxicating or "high" effects that THC products do. A full glossary of Hemp and CBD terminology can be found here.
Are there any side effects of CBD oil for pets?
Studies indicate that CBD does not cause any physiological, biochemical, or significant effects on animal behavior unless taken in extremely high doses. Also, there is no indication of any animal becoming addicted to CBD treatments.
How much CBD should I give my pet?
Pet dosage is based on the size and weight of your animal. Every animal is different and metabolizes CBD differently, so we can only give recommendations on dosage. We always suggest starting small and increasing your dose as needed.
Can CBD cause drug interactions?
While there is very little evidence suggesting any negative drug interactions with CBD, we always recommend consulting with your veterinarian first.
Is CBD legal in my state?
After the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, industrial hemp derived CBD (containing less than .3% THC) was removed from the DEA list of Schedule 1 drugs, making it Federally legal in all 50 states and now regulated by the FDA. While Federally legal, each state has their own regulations, so we always advise researching the legal status of CBD in your particular state.
What is the shelf life of Healthy Roots CBD products?
As long they are stored properly (out of direct sunlight and in a cool place), they will stay good for up to 18 months.
